Arthur
A collaborative audio installation as responsive to human - tech interaction within our daily environments. The focus of Arthur is architectural space.
As you enter, the building acknowledges your presence by remarking on the lovely day, your new haircut, or even an introduction. You would be entering what might be considered
his personal space, so a quick "Hi, I'm Arthur, who are you?" hints at a proper protocol...yes?
In downtime, Arthur might be heard humming, napping, or mumbling about whatever
bits are running through his mind...you know, talking to himself.
When you walk through the door, his attention is right there to acknowledge you. He's very friendly, and he loves baseball.
Would you like to hear some snippets?
Freedom to Fear
The U.S. flag re-presented, utilizing the color-coded terrorism threat advisory scale in use from 2002–2011. The work, as a response to the malleable use of fear as language, was a response to Norman Rockwell's Freedom from Fear painting, as response to FDR's Four Freedoms speech. Freedom to Fear flew over the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago for 2 weeks prior to being included in The Four Freedoms art show.
